Is Monte free?
Every new account gets 14 days of Monte Pro free — no card required. After that, bank sync, Ask Monte, and the daily brief require a Monte Pro subscription, billed through Apple. Cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings.
How does Monte connect to my bank?
Through Plaid, the same connection service used by major finance apps. Your bank credentials go directly to Plaid — Monte never sees or stores them.
Can Monte move my money or trade?
No. Monte advises; only you act. The app cannot execute trades, transfer funds, or touch your money in any way.
What happens to documents I share in chat?
Monte reads them, saves the useful values (a deductible, a match percentage), and discards the document. The file itself is never stored.
Is Monte financial advice?
Monte provides educational guidance from your own numbers — it is not a registered investment adviser and doesn't give personalized investment, tax, or legal advice.
How do I delete my data?
Settings → account menu → Delete Account removes your data from our servers permanently. You can export it first from Privacy & Security → Export My Data.
How do the daily texts work?
Opt in under Settings → Notifications → Daily Text Brief. One message per day at the time you choose. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Details in the SMS Terms.
